Story: Osanidde found me living with my aunt, one year after the death of my father, he was shot by gun men, and he was left to be passed from relative to relative for support. Enoch now lives at Osanidde where he has opportunity to get an education as well come to know Jesus as his savior.

STORY: Jackline was under the care of her grandma after the death of her parents. Before coming to Osanidde Village, Jackline was helping her grandma to do casual work in the community to be able to survive a day. Jackline loves dodgeball and her best friend Kevin N. Jackline’s dream is to become a doctor. It is because of this dream, her grandma sought out a place where her dream could turn into a reality.

STORY: Albert’s father died in an accident and the mother abandoned him and other siblings. Albert and siblings went to live with their grandmother where life was so hard since their grandma had no money to sustain them and pay school fees for all of them.

Story: Matthew was neglected by his mother, father remarried and he lived with the step mother who mistreated him, no education was offered to him. The living conditions at home were very poor.

His dream for the future: DOCTOR

Story: He was three years old when he got abandoned by his father, he was left to stay with guardians. He was found by one of the pastors who had come preaching from house to house two years ago in their village he informed them about Osanidde.

His dream for the future: DOCTOR

Story: Before joining Osanidde I lived with my aunt, and my best dish is rice and chicken, my favorite subject in school is science and my best color is yellow. I am privileged to live in Osanidde, they have taught me about Jesus and I gave my life to Jesus as my savior.

 

Andrew Tumuhaire 4 years old

His Hobby : Helping with housework

His dream for the future: Teacher

Story: Andrew was brought to Osanidde because his parents could not support him. Him and his two other siblings shared the same parents who were not in position to look after them. Andrew’s two siblings could spend long spells at home after being sent from school due to their parents’ inability to pay their tuition. Osanidde became the only way out for Andrew not to suffer the same fate.

Rachel Namatovu 9 years old

Her dream for the future: DOCTOR

Story: Rachel has an elder sister called Benita Namulindwa who also lives in Osanidde village in Southern Cross girls’ house. Their Father died of HIV/AIDS and left their mother infected and helpless. Rachel’s mother could go around the Island community looking for casual work to feed her children.

 

Kevin Nantongo 12 years old

Her Hobby: DANCING

Her dream for the future: COMEDIAN  

STORY: Kevin’s father died at the age of two, she was left in the care of her poor mother who could struggle to put a meal on the table.

Kevin’s mother was not able to send her to school, when she found out about Osanidde village, she ran to find rescue for her little girl. Kevin is a funny girl who talks a lot and loves making people laugh.

Gloria Ninsiima 12 years old

Her Hobby: NETBALL(Volleyball)

Her dream for the future: DOCTOR

Story: Gloria’s father died of a severe heart attack. Without a husband, her mother was forced to abandon her because she wasn’t able to take care of the family. Gloria went to live with her unemployed grandmother in absolute poverty. She was brought to Osanidde in order to ensure she would have a future.

 

Veronica Ahayisibye 9 years old

Her Hobby: NETBALL(Volleyball)

Her dream for the future: NURSE

Story: Veronica’s parents divorced while she was very young. Both Dad and Mom went separate ways and she began living with her uncle. She was subjected to a lot of mistreatment. Her uncle was unwilling to educate her although he was in position to do so.

Story: Before joining Osanidde I lived with my distant aunt digging for food as hired workers, my aunt was poor she couldn’t afford my school fees. I was so happy when I was given a place at Osanidde. My favorite color is red.

Story: Peter’s both parent’s whereabouts are not known. For some time, Peter was staying with the elder brother of 14 years at home. They had a small garden where they used to get food from. Him and the brother lived poorly before the brother was taken on by their Auntie. Peter was left alone with no one to care and support him which made him feel unloved. Later on, his grandfather took him on.

STORY: Norida’s father died of severe headache and her mother died of cancer. Norida’s relatives abandoned her after the death of her parents and she was taken care of by a local community pastor who later brought her to Osanidde village.

Her dream for the future: NURSE

Story: Desire’s mother abandoned her. The father’s whereabouts are not known. Desire’s slightly bigger sister in the same age bracket, became the care taker. School fees became a problem as both kids struggled daily to make ends meet. With too much to handle for Desire’s older sister, she too gave up and ran away from home. Desire was picked from the small house where she was left unattended to by Osanidde village.

Her dream for the future: DOCTOR

Story: Precious and Ruth Musimenta (also at Osanidde) lived in one of the ghettos with their grandfather who was a drug addict and had no regard for their education and wellbeing. Some of their older sisters died due to their grandfather’s mental state as they could not support themselves.

Story: Daniel was living with his poor grandmother who did the work of a cleaner. Grandma’s cleaning job wasn’t adequate enough to cater for the many grand children in her care. Raising money to pay for education was a problem.

Story: I lived with my grandmother but after her death I got an opportunity to be enrolled in Osanidde. I am glad to be raised up at Osanidde because they are training me to be one of the future leaders of Uganda. The bible says I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a future and an expected end. Through growing up in Osanidde, I’ve learnt that Gods love never fails.

Story: I am happy to be enrolled in Osanidde. Before that, I used to stay lonely at home as my single mum couldn’t afford to pay our school fees. Sometimes I was left alone to cry. I thank God for Osanidde, they teach us Gods word and gave me my first bible.

Story: Rachel’s parents separated when she was just a little girl. She comes to Osanidde from the Kachanga islands. Rachel and her mother lived in very poor conditions selling silver fish and dry fish until her mother learned about Osanidde. Rachel was able to be enrolled and now gets to go to school.
